Writers Block

Happy Friday, folks!

I totally have no creativity today which= no decent blog post.  However, I did find this hilarious (if somewhat vulgar) take on a girl's monthly visitor from a Tumblr page I follow.  Check it our here.

Enjoy your weekend!!

New York, New York!

Apparently I was ranting so much about the Emmys yesterday I forgot to announce some big news........

Adam and I are going to NYC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We booked our trip yesterday.  Whoop whoop!  We will be celebrating five awesome, wonderful, hard, happy (some not so happy), crazy, years of marriage!

Because Adam is constantly traveling with work, he has built up a massive amount of flight miles and hotel points.  If it weren't for those miles and points, we would not be able to take this trip so we are very fortunate.  Between the flights and the hotel the only portion we paid out of pocket was $25 in taxes.  Twenty-five bucks for a trip to NYC......yep, we'll take it!  Of course we'll be spending PLENTY when we get there, but we feel very lucky that we're not paying an arm and a leg for it.  Plus, we'll be there in December so we get to see NYC at Christmas- cannot put in words how excited I am!!

So with all of this being said, I need ideas of places to go, people to see, restaurants to try, shows to watch, etc.  The last time I was in New York was May 2003.  Before then, it was August 2001.  I was there almost one month before the towers were struck.  I actually have this amazing picture of the towers I took while taking the ferry to the Statue of Liberty.  I'll scan it and post it one day.  I remember walking by the entrance to those buildings so vividly.  I was making the trip with my then-boyfriend and his mom.  We had gone to the top of the Empire State Building the day before, and we were walking around Manhattan doing touristy stuff the next day.  My boyfriends mother, Ms. Carolyn, asked if I wanted to go inside the towers and go to the top.  I said no.  Actually my exact reply was, "Nah..I went to the top of the Empire State Building yesterday- I'm good."  I will always kick myself for that one.

So please, load me down with information!!  I've got around 2 1/2 months to plan.  Now, we're only going 2 days/2 nights.  Give me the best of the best, pretty please!!

And before I end this entry, if you are a praying person, please say a prayer for one of my besties, Natalie.  Her sweet Daddy is undergoing heart surgery this Friday.

Thanks, boos!

XOXO!!!

Better late than never!

I'm so behind!

I meant to post about the Emmys yesterday, but we're in nuclear meltdown mode in the Mosely pad this week.  We are in the process of taking Aaron's "bb" (AKA pacifier) away, and it has not been good.  Yesterday I was so frazzled by 2 pm, I considered checking myself into a hotel far, far away.  Today has been a little better, and I say little with emphasis.  I've almost driven up to Walgreens 3 times in the past 2 days to purchase "bb's" but I'm holding on.  Lord be with us......

Okay, so Emmys!  What did y'all think?  I personally thought it was a tad boring. :/  I was disappointed in Jimmy Kimmel.  I usually find him pretty funny, but the jokes were not on....or maybe I was off??  The only time I got cracked up was when Amy Poehler and Julia Louis-Dreyfus mixed up their speeches.  Here's my breakdown:

  • Sofia Vergara is gorge.  She is hands down, so freakin' beautiful!  Loved the dress, the hair, the makeup- everything! Love that she was bouncing that bootay to "Conga" at the after party; check it out here.
  • Claire Danes said "holla" and "baby daddy" in one sentence.  I haven't had that much respect for sista since she was making out with Jordan Catalano in the boiler room.
  • Is it just me, or did Amy Poehler look hawt??!  Look at the girls- out and about on a Sunday night!
  • Zooey Deschanel.  I love her.  She and her bangs can do no wrong in my eyes.
  • Tiny Fey only gets better with age.
  • Okay, I'm probably going to catch a lot of flack for this one, but I think Christina Hendricks needs a serious reduction.  I think she's such a beautiful, real woman, but dang, look at those knockers!  I'm sure she probably had pads in, but honestly I have never seen boobs that huge.  She makes Pamela Anderson look like a B cup!
Honestly, all the women were beautiful in my opinion.  These lovelies just stood out a little more.

Now on to the mens:
  •  Aaron Paul.  Love him!  My hubby actually watched an hour of the Emmys with me and he was super stocked A. Paul won.  The hubs says Breaking Bad is the best show on TV.  Do you agree?  Might need to check it out.....  (And btw, how gorge is his fiance?!)
  • The obligatory Jon Hamm picture.  We all know he's so handsome, smart, creative, yada.....yada.....yada....
  • I don't watch Two and a Half Men, but I was so touched by Jon Cryer's acceptance speech.  The poor guy didn't even think he had a shot at winning, but was so honored and humble it broke my heart.  I'm officially a fan (even though I will never watch the show).
  • Max Greenfield.  Adore.  Love everything he says or does.  If you aren't watching New Girl, watch it!  It's the best show on TV!
That about sums it up.  I'm no Perez, but honestly I just found the whole show kind've lackluster.  But, guess who I did find out and about:

I'm pretending he just said something incredibly sexy to me in Swedish.  (Image courtesy of Just Jared)

It's Fall, y'all

Happy Sunday, y'all!  Can you feel it in the air??  Fall's here!  This is, hands down, my favorite season.  Excited about: fun scarves, slouchy boots, leggings (and of course, jeggings), Pumpkin Spice Latte's, and (I have to say it), Breaking Dawn 2! About to keel over with joy.....for real.

Last night we celebrated one of my bestie's, Jessica, 30th birthday.  Here's a pic:

My 2 Jessica's & me: Birthday girl in the middle ;)

Had a blast!  Jessica is getting married December 15th, and I am one of the lucky girls that gets to stand beside her on her big day.  Aren't my friends lovely? :)

So, in anticipation of her big day (and simply for the fact that I'm not going to give up my glass of wine a night), I've worked out 4 days this week.  That's, like, a record people.  I met with a personal trainer Friday (consult came free with joining the gym), and I am putting it lightly when I say he kicked.my.a$$.  First, we sat down and went over my body fat percentage (terrible), and my goals.  I basically told him that the only reason why I wanted to lose weight was for completely vain reasons, but that the health benefits would be a great perk. ;)  After discussing goals, workouts, etc. he then proceeded to go all Britney Spears trainer on me.  I'm talking squats, lunges, climbing stairs, while screaming 8-count reps.  On top of all this, he was very attractive and every time I did look at him I broke out in a huge smile, forgot what rep I was on, and giggled.....nonstop.  What is wrong with me??!  Afterwards, he pulled me back into his office to discuss nutrition packages/personal training sessions that would cost upwards of $25 a week!  Srsly??  I'm already paying y'all a whopping $50 bucks a month- you'd think the training sessions could be free (especially when Planet Fitness down the road is offering $10/month plans)!  Welcome to the gym, folks.

Tonight is the Emmy's!!  Y'all know that I love nothing more than a good awards show.  And I don't discriminate.  I'm talking Teen Choice Awards to Academy Awards- I'm so there.  The following are my predictions for tonight:

  • Lea Michele will be a total diva and do the pout face at every camera she can get her mug on.
  • Jon Hamm will be gorge.  The girlfriend, Jennifer Westfeldt will look pretty and a little desperate (I stay worried about her.  She just seems so nice and I don't want The Hamm to break her heart.)
  • Zooey Deschanel (my fave) will be the cutest, funniest person there and I'll wish that we were BFF's.
  • 30 Rock will win everything.
  • Wonder if this guy will be there:
YUM!!!!

I guess we'll see........

Happy Sunday!

How does Jennifer Aniston do this daily?

Oh my God,  y'all.  I attempted yoga today.....it wasn't pretty.  Of course the instructor was a tall, skinny blonde that's double jointed.  I, of course, was totally unprepared for what was in store.  Luckily, one of my old Allstate work buddies is on vacay, and was taking the class as well- she provided encouragement.  At one point I looked at her, said "this shit is hard," and burst out laughing.  Because I'm a glutton for punishment, I think I'm going back next week.  I can't let the Downward-Facing Dog intimidate me.  Must also remember to wear a thong or seamless underwear next time as panty lines are not attractive in yoga pants; especially when your a$$ is in another person's face the.whole.time.  SMH......

The Royal Edition

Last night as I was browsing through the celebrity gossip on my US Weekly iPhone app I came across this story:

"Karl Lagerfeld: Carole Middleton is "Sexier Than Her Daughters" Kate and Pippa"

The story went on to basically say how the famous designer thinks Carole Middleton is hot.  Good for her.  She is an attractive woman, and she most definitely has beautiful daughters.

The story caught my eye because Mr. Lagerfeld has been very outspoken against Pippa and the way she looks before.  You can read that story here.  It irked me to no end reading this story because Pippa is a natural beauty just like her sister.  She's not injected with so much collagen and botox that she can't move her face.  And I'm sure she probably maintains her fab bod (and rear) the healthy way, without resorting to sticking her finger down her throat and/or starving herself.  I know Karl Lagerfeld is a famous designer, but who gives him the right (especially when he looks like President Snow from the Hunger Games) to designate who's sexy or not.

Well now Mr. Lagerfeld is backtracking on the Pippa "only should show her backside" comment.  His new "words of wisdom" are that Pippa needs better makeup- specifically eye makeup.

After reading this I decided to see for myself.  Sure, I know both Middleton sisters are very lovely.  But, I too have noticed that the Middleton girls love eye makeup- especially black eyeliner.  While the designer states that Kate can do no wrong, I decided to focus my picture search on Pippa.  And well, you can see for yourself:

Too much self-tanner (image via huffingtonpost.com)

A bit too much? (image via radaronline.com)

Okay the fake tan/orangy foundation combo is not good, I'll admit.  The bottom picture I honestly think is lovely.  Hell, maybe I have bad taste in makeup.  Yeah I don't believe in panda eyes, but I do LOVE eyeliner.  I ain't even gonna lie.
I didn't discover eyeliner until I was 20 (I guess that's an appropriate age), and ever since then I've been a sucker.  I've tried the no eyeliner thing, the eyeliner only on the upper lash line thing, and the eyeliner halfway across the bottom thing.  I've discovered through plenty of trial and error that lining the eye all the way from top to bottom works for me, as long as I don't overdue it.  After seeing pictures where it looks like the black eyeliner is wearing me (instead of me wearing it), I've now gone completely to shadow liner.  This has involved investing in a great liner brush (I recommend Sephora's angled eyeliner brush) which you can use to apply both powder and gel eyeliner; however, I don't recommend using the same brush to do both as I've made that mistake and had to make the $14 purchase again

Maybe that is what our lovely Pippa needs.  What do you think?  I heart her.  I root for her hard.  I'm sure Kate is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside, but why does she get to marry Prince William, be a Duchess, and innocently flirt with Prince Harry and his Royal hotness for the rest of her life.  I know I'm not the only one that totally thinks Pippa and Harry should hook it up.  (As a side note, can we admire how hot Harry looks in uniform?!)

Dayumm, boy (image via mirror.co.uk)

Maybe I should just move our brood to London and take over Pippa's styling.  I think that would work.  And in trade, she could show me the number of squats and lunges she does to maintain that rump.  That's totally a deal!

Pippa- call me!

Musings

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  It's a rainy day in Georgia and I am loving it.  I've got a great excuse to wear stretchy pants, drink coffee, play DVR catch up during nap time (while also catching up on laundry), cuddle with my baby and fur baby, and search Pinterest for something yummy for dinner.

I hope y'all had a good weekend!  We spent it with family.  Besides the fact that the hubs was MIA, we had a nice couple of days.  Check my Instagram for pics if you're interested. ;)

I joined the gym today.  I've already FB status updated and tweeted this, as this is big news in the Mosely hacienda.  I honestly cannot remember the last time I stepped a New Balance sneaker into the gym.  I had an epiphany over the weekend, "why don't I join a gym?"  I was sipping on a glass of wine while in the tub Saturday night, studying my flabby belly (stretch marks, froyo, french fries), and it occurred to me "my a$$ needs to be in the gym."  After researching gyms in the area, I found a very convenient one down the road that offers free childcare 6 days/week.  How can I pass that up??  I literally have no excuse.  So, here goes.  By the way, how many times did I use gym in this paragraph?

Don't tell my hubby, but I bought the Hunger Games DVD yesterday.  (Rut-roh)  It's an obsession.  It's turning unhealthy.  I just cannot get over this face (and jaw line):

#4 Boyfriend (1- Rpatz; 2- RyGy; 3- ASkars).  This is ridonk.

And in other tween news, Breaking Dawn part 2 comes out in exactly 60 days.  Wonder if Rpatz and KStew will get it together for the interview circuit?  Either way, he's still #1 Boyfriend

Enjoy your day!!

Verdict

Raise your hand if you watched The X Factor last night.  (I'm waving my right hand frantically in the air right now.)  Hellur!  Absolutely loved it!  I haven't watched American Idol in years, so the only reason I was looking forward to even watching The X Factor last night was because of Brit-Brit.  Well, I really liked the  show, AND it looks like our girl might be getting her groove back.  Really, I was impressed.  Britney did not mince words, and seemed to really care about giving these contestants the honest to God truth.  Go girl!  She looked great, too.  Totally dug the glasses she wore on this day:

On the other hand, after last night I have a major girl crush on Demi Lovato.  What a cutie!  I've never really paid much attention to Demi before.  I mean, I knew she dated Joe Jonas at one point, and I knew she had punched somebody in her entourage out at one point, and then immediately went to rehab afterwards.  So, last night was the first time I watched something she was in for a period of time.......love her!!  I just thought she was so fresh-faced and adorable.  I loved the fact that she didn't wear a ton of makeup (although her eyeliner in the first part of the episode was something fierce), and had a really easy-going banter with everyone from Simon to the contestants.  After the show, I immediately went to Twitter and started following.  New fan!

I'm going to have to DVR tonight.  Glee comes back and Kate Hudson is starring as a teacher, and HELLO- she's like girl crush #1!

One last thing, have y'all heard The Bieb's new song?  Heard it for the first time last night and cannot get it out of my head.  Who said 30 wasn't the new 20?

Dear Britney

I guess you've all heard the big news......Brit Brit's big X Factor premiere is tonight.  I'm pumped.  I'm really, really hoping she's not going to be weird.  She looks great as Exhibit A and B shows:

She looks nervous

Definitely more like herself here

I worry about Brit-Brit-, I cannot lie.  I always feel like she's on the verge of a major breakdown.  It's obvious girlfriend is on medication.  And you know, if that works good for her!  Yesterday her and Simon Colwell appeared on Ellen, and although she looked beautiful, she looked like she might be a tad constipated.  (Girl, we know you stopped at In-N-Out and got you some french fries on the way!)  Check it out:

See what I'm talking about? I really do think that if I were her personal assistant, she wouldn't act that way. The following is basically how it would go down:

"Britney, I've loved you since the 2000 VMA's when you became a stripper.  I knew at that point we would have a lasting relationship.  I especially loved the MTV episode of "Diary" when you and JT loved it up for the cameras.  I still cannot believe you cheated on JT with Wade Robson.....what was that?? Anyway, you really took it to a new low when you married KFed and premiered Chaotic.  I stuck by you when you shaved your head, and went cray cray on the paparazzi (although they totally deserved it).  I was even your biggest supporter when you were riding around in Paris Hilton's Mercedes Benz not wearing underwear (probably not your best move).  There have been a number of things that have gone down, and yet I've always supported you no matter what.  So from this point on, this is the plan: you're going to learn to dance again (Hello?! I'm a slaaavvve for you), you're going to stop being weird during interviews, and you need to just go ahead and break off that engagement with Jason Trawho?, and reunite with JT (let's just admit that we all know JT does not want to marry Jessica Biel).  That's the plan, you feel me?"

So with all of this in mind, I will be watching the X Factor tonight, glass of wine in hand, rooting for my girl.  Come on, Britney!  We believe in you!!

An explanation

Well, I guess I should start things out by saying that it feels good to be back.  I haven't blogged since February, and honestly you probably wouldn't have wanted me to.  My life over the past 7 months has been ever-changing, and going into all types of directions.  I'm scattered......it's really no fun.  You see, I am the queen of making rash decisions.  Some of these decisions have been wonderful, most- not so much.  After moving back to Macon in February, I started a job as a claims adjuster at Allstate.  I lasted 4 months.  I went directly into a new job as a dental assistant.  That lasted 2 1/2 months.  I know you probably think I'm crazy......for goodness sakes, I  know I'm crazy! I'm 30 years old and I still haven't figured out what I want to be when I grow up.  The only things I'm sure of at this moment are: I have an incredibly wonderful, kind, patient husband who puts up with A LOT, and I have a fantastic 2 1/2 year old who blows my mind in every amazing way possible and cracks me up daily, and as usual, my mom, dad, and sister are my rocks.  I'm lucky to have wonderful friends, and it is true that the older you get you learn which friends (as one of my besties Natalie states, "will be the ones that ride back home on the Greyhound with you when the limo breaks down."  Sad, but true.

With all of this being said, I'm happy to be back to this blog.  It is the one place I can come to that's all mine.  And I definitely plan to come back here quite a bit.  So please stay tuned.  I promise it gets better!

Testing.....testing...1, 2, 3

Laughing Lolly has been majorly revamped, y'all.  Trying to make a comeback here.  Just bear with me, please. :)
