Review

I was going to post yesterday, but I was experiencing the hangover of the century.  Like, I could barely move my body hurt so much.  One margarita led to three, and after having 2 glasses of champagne at our friends house I was DONE.

Midnight

Not long after the above picture was taken was I passed out on their couch.  I'm talking within the hour.  Geez...

All in all, we had an awesome time.  It was a perfect, laid-back evening.  Since we knew we were spending the night, we brought breakfast for the next morning.  I made these Bacon-Cheese Pull Aparts (recipe from Pinterest) and they were divine.  Cheers to 2013!

I have been meaning to update on Christmas; specifically, update on my Clarisonic Mia 2.  Obsesssssssssed!  I posted last November about wanting one because my skin has gotten seriously OOC.  Well, Santa granted my wish and it's as fabulous as I thought it would be!  First of all, I love using it.  I've never been one to love washing my face.  In fact, I'm downright lazy about it.  Usually while giving Aaron his bath at night, I would wipe my face with a makeup remover cloth, apply toner, and dab on my eye cream and moisturizer.  Nothing special.

My, my, how things have changed....

This thing is awesome.  After charging for 24 hours before use it was ready to go.  Along with your Mia, you get some Clarisonic Cleansing Gel.  After wetting your face and the brush, you apply the gel to the bristles, press the power button, and let it go.  The brush stays on for a minute (20 seconds on forehead/20 seconds on nose/chin area/10 seconds on each cheek).  The Mia is already set for you to follow this standard.  Afterwards, your skin feels amazing.  Like, just had a facial- amazing.  My only concern was if it was harmful to use it once in the morning and at night, but according to the FAQ's on their website it's A-Okay to use it twice a day.  Again, I love it.  I even talked to the fabulous woman who does my facials, Angelique (here's her FB page if interested), to get her opinion and she thinks it's great as well.  Score!  She did inform me that with all of the exfoliating (i.e. deep cleansing) this brush does, it will bring up all of the impurities in your skin; bottom line, I shouldn't be shocked and demand my money back when a zit or blackhead pops up.  Just means it's doing its job!  So, if you're interested in this wonderful little gadget, and hesitant about the cost, it's worth every pretty penny.  I promise!!

Okay, gotta go cook dinner.  One last thought; I purchased Divergent on my Kindle today because I wanted to read something like The Hunger Games (and frankly, I'm still madly in love with JHutch/Peeta and I simply cannot get over him).  Has anybody else read this series?  Thoughts??

Happy New Year!!

It's NYE!!  I'm actually excited for our plans tonight.  We're meeting friends for dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant and then headed back to our friends home for games, drinks, and (I'm sure) a dance party or two.  My sweet parents took Aaron Mo for the night so we can indulge in some much-needed adult time.  I honestly can't remember the last NYE that we got dressed up and went out (that's sad, right?).  Cheers!

So, let's just go ahead and get it out of the way: Kimye's having a beybey.  Celebitchy predicted this last week.  I don't think it's that shocking.  I guess she felt that her clock's ticking and her divorce is dragging, so she might as well get knocked up.  Please God, let this child look like her.  Or Mason.  Or Penelope.  Check out this link for the hilarious twitter reactions to baby Kimye.

What are your resolutions this year?  I have a few.
  • To wear a bikini next summer.  I really, really need for this to happen.  For great beach pictures, of course.  MyFitnessPal app is downloading on my phone as I type...
  • To let go.  Of everything.  To stop worrying about everything.  To pray and trust that God's in control.  To grow closer in my relationship with Him.  To be a better person.  A better mother.  A better wife.  A better friend.  Just be better.
  • To read more.
  • To blog more.
  • And finally, to stop cutting my hair off. We don't work well together.
Some things I'm looking forward to in 2013???

The return of this guy (well more like True Blood) in June.   I'm sweating right now.

The return of this show next month.  Eeekkk!  Love them.

And of course, I can't talk about 2013 without talking about this...

Aghhhhh!  JHutch!!  Finnick!!!  Too much excitement for me to handle!!!

Is it bad that all of my excitement involves televisions shows and/or movies?  Oh well.

Anyway, from our home to yours...........

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a side note, Aaron got a helmet to use while riding on his "Show-Wheeler" AKA Four Wheeler, and he refuses to take it off.

Ohhh.....yeah.....

Over the past few months I'm ashamed to say that I've barely picked up my Kindle.  The same Kindle that I pitched such a fit to have last Christmas.  Up until the end of last month, the last time I read a book alone was in October when I purchased the second book in the Sookie Stackhouse series, "Living Dead in Dallas."  Between being a mommy/wife, going to school, and dealing with all that was happening with Luke, the last thing I wanted to do was read.  So at 9:00 pm on New Years Eve (yep, I'm actually copping to the fact that me and my husband are old farts), I turned the Kindle back on to finish my Sookie Stackhouse novel.........

OMG.  I'm hooked on vampire novels.  Again.  And guess who the old crusharoo is now??  Well, I'll just let you take a look for yourself:

Hot damn!
Okay Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood fanatics: Which book and what season do Eric and Sookie hook.it.up??  I'm dying.  I meant what I said in yesterday's post:    I'm on a mission.  I'm actually considering asking the hubs if we can add HBO to our DirecTv programming.......it's getting serious up in here, folks.
I definitely think a lil' Alexander Skarsgard can speed up the healing process.

I'm going to leave you today with a picture of my sweet lovebug brushing his teeth.  Ahhh, he makes life worth living!!!

Ciao,
LL

It's a new day!

Happy first Monday of the year!

I celebrated by buying myself 2 pairs of J Simp Jeggings- whoop whoop!  I'm excited to say I've gone down a size, so jean shopping was actually a pleasant experience today.  Here's to losing more weight and actually (and not just saying I'm going to) wearing a bikini this summer....Cheers!  Now, let's hope Adam doesn't look at our account anytime in the near future...

My week is already so busy.  With the exception of tomorrow, we have plans, doc appointments, dinners, parties, and etc. the rest of the week.  I go to the doc for a check-up Wednesday (blah) and Aaron heads to the doc for a heart scan Thursday.  Just typing that out makes me a nervous wreck.  Before I scare anyone, this is just a precautionary thing we are having to do because of Luke's precious heart.  There have been no signs at all that Aaron has any heart problems, we just have to check him.  If you are a praying person, send us some good thoughts Thursday.  I, of course, am freaking out because the last time we went to a heart doctor we heard news that broke our hearts.  Yes, I will be popping a Zantax Thursday morning.  Don't judge.

I need some book recommendations.  I'm reading the second book in the Sookie Stackhouse series, and while I love it, I'm getting impatient for her to hook up with Eric.  Does that even happen in the books?  I've got to get True Blood back on my Netflix que.....

Are y'all watching The Bachelor tonight??  I haven't decided if I'm going to get suckered in or not....Ben's just not interesting to me in the least.

Yahoo is advertising your yearly horoscope.  With the exception of "reclaiming my singledom" and "having a baby," I think it looks pretty good.  Here it is (and go check yours out, too):

Gemini Outlook for 2012

Gemini
5/21 – 6/21

Year 2012 Overview

Another year of sweeping changes are in store, Gemini. If you thought last year was a whirlwind, hold the line. With an encore round of eclipse patterns hitting your constellation this summer, you're gearing up for the next level of transformation! Your personal image and intimate relationships will continue to change over the course of the next 12 months, so be ready for anything. If you're single, this could very well be the year you finally get hitched. If you're already betrothed, this is the year you could reclaim your singledom, buy a house or have a baby. Either way, you're moving toward the great unknown, so let go - and let the stars show you the way!
This is your year to finally regain that sense of discipline you swore you'd have at the start of last year. With Saturn moving into your sector of health and routines this year, you should be able to get a good grip on daily wellness practices. Healthy foods and consistent exercise will be key to pushing your vitality from acceptable to stellar. You'll need to be operating at maximum potential to navigate all the exciting changes just around the bend!
The other big news is that Saturn is finally leaving your romance and creativity sector in October. After many hard-earned lessons in love over the past two years, you're ready for a serious reprieve. You've certainly upgraded your standards, haven't you? Use this year to live the words that you preach in your relationships. Many people look up to you as a role model, so act accordingly. With Mars activating your domestic sector for a good portion of the year, you'll have plenty of intensity on the home front to contend with. If you're not happy with your current living quarters, this is the year to put energy into making that change.

Have a good night, friends!

Book Review

Heart of the Matter

I just finished reading Emily Giffin's Heart of the Matter last night.  I have to say, I'm disappointed.  Normally, I love everything this woman writes, but not this one.  Basically, the story involves two women, Tessa and Valerie, and how their lives interact after Valerie's son is in an accident.  In true Emily Giffin style it involves hooking up, marriage woes, trust, and fidelity.  Although the story was told through two narratives in the same book (rather than two narratives in separate books like Something Borrowed and Something Blue), I still found myself disliking one woman, and wishing the other woman would take charge of her life.  I don't want to give too much away in case you're planning on reading; however, it just was not a favorite of mine. On a happier note, I'm super excited about Something Borrowed the movie!  Kate Hudson, John Krasinski, and Ginnifer Goodwin are just a few of the big names, so you know it's going to be really good.

Next on the book list includes:

True Colors
I read Firefly Lane by her and loved it.  We'll see if this one is just as good!

The Purpose Driven® Life: What on Earth Am I Here For?
I plan to read this soon.  I know I'm like 6 years behind, but I need more religion in my life.  Hope this book is as inspiring as I've heard it was......

What are you reading?
