Desperate Housewife

Today, I officially entered the ranks and am now officiated into the stay-at-home mom's club......I cleaned poop out of the tub.  YUCK!!  If you happen to be eating right now, I'm sorry.  I just can't get over it.  I had to post this, and I didn't want to be the weird person on Facebook posting a status update about effin' poop.  So, there it is.  I literally screamed when I saw it; whipped Aaron out of the tub, threw clothes on his little chunky body AND brushed hair in 3 minutes, before entering the war zone.  Gagging, gagging, and more gagging later, the tub has been properly scalded with hot water and bleach, and I cannot even think about lunch.  This is the type of day where a sista needs some help!!

Onto more fun and not-so-gross things.  My girlfriends and I threw a Bridal Shower for one of my besties, Natalie, at my humble abode.  It turned out really well if I do say so myself.  Here are a few pics:

Nat's wedding is May 28th, and it's going to be wonderful.  So happy for you, Nat-Nat!

Between getting ready for not only Nat's wedding, but my sister's, and with bikini season looming over me, I have finally gotten back into a workout routine- thank God.  After spending 40 minutes on the treadmill and elliptical yesterday, I feel that I'm starting to get back into the zone.  Now, if these ugly clouds will move out of the way and let some warm sunshine in, me and Aaron's stroller walks can resume.

And one last thought, did y'all see Brit-Brit on GMA this morning?  Can we say hot mess??!

The end of one chapter...

I officially tossed the Similac today.  For those of you that aren't familiar with Similac, it's baby formula.  The number "1" milestone was reached and out went the $20/week money pit.  Yep, this little jar of magic cost us upwards of around $18 bucks a week.  Unbelievable.  He if now officially on whole cow's milk, and mom and dad can start saving money again.  Now, if we can just get him officially off of the bottle and onto the sippy cup we'll be in business......

After Aaron's 12 month check-up and a nap, we ventured out for a walk on yet another beautiful day.  I think we might need to make this a daily habit.  Despite all the pollen that gives me sneezing fits, and the fact that I went to Griffith's afterwords to get a slaw dog (shameful), I really felt good, healthy, strong, rejuvenated, refreshed, etc. after our afternoon stroll.  Maybe the Summer 2011 Bikini wish isn't so far-fetched.  Of course, that would not include a visit to the local fast-food restaurant for a slaw dog because I felt that I "deserved" a treat. (shameful)

Did anyone watch DWTS last night?  Let's just sum this all up with 6 words: What's up with Lacey Schwimmer's hair?  Is that supposed to be ombre for roots??  She's always been one of my faves (ever since she was on SYTYCD), and I love her cutie-patootie partner, but really, Lacey??  You've racked up all this dancing $$, and you can't go to the salon and get those roots fixed?  Girl, it is time for a "hairvention."

I'm out.  Nighty-night!

Lots of updates!

I really cannot believe that I have not blogged since November.  Shame on me!  I assure you, the neglect was not intended; life really has been super busy and hectic over the last 5 months.

First things first, we moved.  Yep, the hubs, baby boy, Sophie May, and I packed up our things and moved into a precious home in Griffin.  We love our home, and are happy to be in such a great neighborhood.  The roads are lined in Perennials and Cherry Blossoms, and I am thoroughly enjoying the fact that I can pop Aaron into his stroller and take a thirty minute walk without having to worry about crazy traffic.  This is such a sweet time for us, as Aaron turned one last Thursday, and we are literally in awe at how much he changes and grows every day.  Life is good.

While we love our home, and the fact that my parents and good friends are here, we miss Macon.  Although, again, we're happy to be in Griffin, I cannot say for a fact that we we will be here next year.  Although this is a great place to raise a family, our roots began in Macon, and they might just stay there.  I know you're probably thinking , "Why did you move, if you didn't really want to leave?"  Believe me, I have questioned myself plenty of times, but I truly feel that this move to Griffin was is essential.  And who knows, we could be here for the next few years; however, we still own our home in Macon (as we have a tenant living there currently), so there's still a big chance we could be back.......guess we'll have to see what the future holds for the Mosely clan.....

Through many discussions with my husband, and lots of prayer, I have decided to go back to school......for Nursing.  My B.A. in Communications has led me to some great jobs, but not a career.  After having Aaron last March, I put my career aspirations on hold to be the best mama I could be to my lil' gentleman.  While this past year of being a stay-at-home mom has been wonderful, awful, exciting, boring, sweet, nerve-wracking, but most of all, precious, I am ready to revisit plans for my vocation.  I have applied to a couple of different schools, and am awaiting the next step.  We shall see.....

All in all, it's been an eye-opening last few months.  The one thing that I can count on at the end of every day is the love I have for my two boys.  My husband has been my rock through thick and thin, and I honestly do not know what I would ever do without him.  My lil' cowboy, well, words cannot even explain the magnitude of love that I have for him.  I thank God every day for blessing me so abundantly. :)

Before I end this post I have two shout-outs to make:

To my sister- The blog is back in business, and you and your wedding will probably be discussed quite often as time is winding down to less than 8 months (yay!).  I will refrain from posting anything negative as you are my sister whom I love with my whole heart, and the fact that you would probably kick my ass if I did.  Here, here, to you, my beautiful baby sister!  I love you, and I am so incredibly happy for you and "Unca D!"  Cheers!

Congrats go out to Michelle at Huckleberry Over my Persimmon, as she just gave birth to a beautiful, sweet, baby girl!  Love you, Chelle-belle.

That's it for now.  I'm officially back. ;)

Dear Aaron,

Happy 1st birthday, lil' man!  Wow, I cannot believe it's been a year already.  From the minute you came into our lives, we wondered what we ever did without you.  I will never forget holding you for the first time, and the immediate connection we had.  You looked at me almost as if saying, "Hi Mom, it's so good to finally meet you."  The few weeks after having you were hard, I'm not going to lie.  Getting used to this new role in my life was quite the adjustment, but it was worth every tear and every sleepless night.  In the early morning hours it was just me and you; while the whole world was sleeping, it was just me and my beautiful boy.  As time has passed, I am still in complete awe of you.  Every time I speak of my love for you, I can't help but cry because it is so much deeper and stronger than I could ever express in words.  It is so true, there is absolutely nothing in the world like being a mom.

As I marvel at you every day, I thank God that he made you so perfectly.  From your mischievous eyes that twinkle when you smile, to the hot mess of the mounds of hair on your head, you are my gift.  The most wonderful, precious gift that I will ever be given.

I hope you always know how much your "ma ma" loves you.  My love for you is all encompassing and never-ending.  Thank you for making my world so complete.

And I'll say it again, Happy Birthday Aaron Mo!!!  Here's to the first of many wonderful years!!!

Love,
Mom
