Weekend Photo Dump

Since I'm on a maj food hangover from a late ChickfilA lunch, I'm just going to let my pics narrate my weekend:

I kicked off the weekend at the Vet's office with Sophie May Friday afternoon.  I knew baby girl hadn't been feeling well all week, although there were no outward signs; she was eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom like normal.  Call it mother's intuition I guess; she has a UTI.  Bless it!  Needless to say, she's back to normal now and letting everyone in the house know who's boss.

This was my Saturday.  Amazing.  My sweet friend, Brooke, had myself and 2 of my other girlfriends over to her mom and dad's house for a girls afternoon/early birthday celebration.  Isn't it gorge??  This house is probably one of my most favorite places in the world.  Brooke's parents live on Lake Tobesofkee in a beautiful house that looks like it should be on MTV Cribs.  The best part: it comes equipped with a beautiful pool, hot tub, and overlooks the lake.  It was the perfect day.  We ate lots of yummy food, drank, or in mine and Brooke's case (she's preggers too) we partook in some O'Douls non-alcoholic beer.  Only 2 of them, but hey, they were delish!  I've been craving beer, and this definitely hit the spot.  Later that afternoon, Brooke's precious mom took us for a ride on their pontoon boat to cap off the end of our day.  I got there at 11:15 that morning and didn't get home until 6:30, and time flew by!  I cannot wait to do it again!

{L-R: Jayme, Lauren, Nikki, Brandi, Lauren, Laura, Tina, me, Jessica, & Stephanie}
This was taken yesterday afternoon at my friend, Laura's, baby shower.  She's expecting a baby girl in late July!  Watching her open all of the presh baby girl stuff made me so excited for my future baby showers!

  • Aaron starts swimming lessons tonight.  He'll be going Monday-Thursday.  I'm half excited/half dreading it.  I'm excited in that he needs the lessons, of course, with basically all my family having pools; I'm dreading it in that Aaron can be super stubborn, and I can totally see us getting there and Aaron going into toddler meltdown no. 325.  Good thoughts, please!
  • The Killing came back on last night, and it did not disappoint.  Between that, True Blood, and Keeping Up With the Kardashians my DVR is going to be out of control on Sunday nights.  My newest swede obsession is Joel Kinnaman who plays Holder on Killing.  Feast your eyes upon the hotness:
He dates Olivia Munn in real life.  BiatchVia

  • Rant: Why is there now a show about Mistresses?  Every time I see a preview of it, I'm confused.  Is it now officially cool to be a mistress?  Did Olivia Pope make it okay (Scandal)?  I'm going to watch the first episode because I'm really, really hoping that these girls aren't mistresses on purpose. I just don't understand the glorification of hoochies.  I don't care if Alyssa Milano is the freakin' lead.
  • My birthday is a week from today.  Whoop!
That's all, y'all!  Enjoy the rest of your Monday!

Just when you thought I was gone...

Hi friends!  Wow, I haven't blogged in almost 2 months.  Eeek!  I'm sorry.  I kinda have a way of disappearing sometimes- sorry about that.  I promise to elaborate further on this soon.  I'll just say that this year has proved to be very busy (and exciting) for us! :)

Let's catch up, shall we?

  • I am completely obsessed over the Bachelor Sean Lowe and his fiancee, Catherine Giudici.  Like, stalking them on Twitter and Instagram.  I just think they're two of the most beautiful people on earth, and I am so freakin' excited that they're getting married.  You'd think I knew them or something?  It's getting a little cray.  In other crazy news, I've also found Sean's sister (MixandMatchMama) on Instagram and am now stalking her, too.  They just need to go ahead and get the restraining order.  If this relaysh doesn't continue I might cycle into the deep depression I entered when Edward left Bella in New Moon.  It's getting serious, folks.
  • To add on to the above, I'm also a little stressed that Sean has joined the DWTS cast and his partner is the beautiful Australian hottie, Peta.  Not that I think he's a douche because I honestly think he might be the sweetest/most handsome guy on the planet, I just feel a little bad for Catherine.  Don't you know that all she wants to do is enjoy this delicious man and not share him with that blonde bombshell.  If I were her I would not be waiting on that ABC televised wedding special to make it official; I would go straight to the courthouse.  I mean, let's get real here: there's only so much "making out" you do with Sean Lowe before you say that's it and you get naked.  Just saying what we're all thinking, folks.

  • Walking Dead: Gosh, I've totally blanked on covering any of the ep's since it came back on in February.  Honestly, I don't think too much has been going on besides the fact that Rick and the "Guv'nah" are about to do the damn thing.  My sister made a good point this week- she said that she thinks Andrea's going to take the Governor down.  Fingers crossed.  I wish Rick would stop being so mean to everybody, it's not fitting on him.  And I'm sorry, but the whole Glenn/Maggie sex scene just grossed me out; I mean, I think Maggie's adorable and all, but who wants to hook up with Glenn?  Why doesn't Daryl ever get any l-o-v-e?  Now that would be hawt.  Also, what other show/movies has the Governor's right-hand man (you know, the geeky guy with the glasses) been on?  It's driving me crazy!  And Morgan in the ep from two weeks ago just broke my heart.  I still love you, Morgan!!  What are your thoughts?  Only 3 episodes left!
So I totally missed covering the Grammy's and the Oscars (go, JLaw!) but I promise to get back on track!

Happy Hump Day, friends!

Sweet Sundays

Sophie May and I are camped out in my room, watching New Years Eve on HBO, while my husband has taken over the living room to watch the Falcon's play.  We had to get away from him.  Apparently, today is the Falcon's playoff game and a serious nail-biter.  Or in Adam's case, you're biting your nails, you haven't taken a shower, and you're going back and forth between pacing the room and/or yelling at the TV.  This is the exact way I feel before Britney performs live these days.

Today is a big day, y'all.  Golden Globes comes on tonight AND it's the Girls season premiere.  Wha??  I can't even handle it.  Will JHutch make an appearance at the Globes in a dapper suit??  Will Hannah tell Adam that she loves him too and will Marnie get back together with Charlie on Girls??  Eeekk!

Yesterday, Ashley and I met up for a Mexican lunch and we had a blast.  A 1:00 pm lunch turned into three skinny margs, a shopping trip, and an (almost) Michael Kors bag purchase.  *This is what happens when you drink tequila during the day.*  Luckily, our restaurant is planted in a shopping center so we were able to walk off the alcohol, and aside from the fact that I accidentally knocked over a boot display in Dillards, no one was harmed.  I even kept my spending to a minimum only buying a long-sleeved knit tee on clearance at Express, a fabulous new iPhone cover, and a couple of pairs of earrings from NY&Co.  Nothing like a full afternoon with a dear friend that you so rarely get to see!

Before I forget, Adam and I had date night Friday and we went to see Silver Linings Playbook and it was awesome.  Bradley Cooper is gorge and y'all know how much I adore some JLaw.  I won't go into tons of details, but it's basically about a guy (Bradley Cooper) who is released from a Mental Health Institute, moves back in with his parents, and meets JLaw's character.  It's hilarious, but in a dark way if that makes sense.  Adam and I loved it.  So, if you're in a movie-going mood I totally recommend it!

Au revoir!

Sporadic

Alright, let's get down to the gritty.  I know y'all have heard about the Mariah/Nicki throw-down.  Wow.  I am so totally not surprised.  I mean, did AI producers really think those two were going to play nice?  Or maybe that was the plan the whole time..get these two on the show and see who wins.  My money's on Nicki.  I would not mess with her.  She's from the ghet-to.  She hangs out with Lil Wayne and Drake (who's brawling with Chris Brown "at da club."  Way to keep it classy, AI.

And in other random celebrity news, I never thought I would ever say this in my entire life but.....I think Lady Gaga is looking naturally pretty these days.  Check this photo out from People:

Love her as a brunette.  Plus, I'm liking the fact that she's put on a few healthy pounds and looks real.  Go gurl!

And since I'm going with the "this blog is all over the place" theme today, my hub's has a job interview this afternoon for a job where he'll be able to work from home.  Yay!  Please send some good vibes his way- we could really use this opportunity.

Enjoy the rest of your hump day!

Verdict

Raise your hand if you watched The X Factor last night.  (I'm waving my right hand frantically in the air right now.)  Hellur!  Absolutely loved it!  I haven't watched American Idol in years, so the only reason I was looking forward to even watching The X Factor last night was because of Brit-Brit.  Well, I really liked the  show, AND it looks like our girl might be getting her groove back.  Really, I was impressed.  Britney did not mince words, and seemed to really care about giving these contestants the honest to God truth.  Go girl!  She looked great, too.  Totally dug the glasses she wore on this day:

On the other hand, after last night I have a major girl crush on Demi Lovato.  What a cutie!  I've never really paid much attention to Demi before.  I mean, I knew she dated Joe Jonas at one point, and I knew she had punched somebody in her entourage out at one point, and then immediately went to rehab afterwards.  So, last night was the first time I watched something she was in for a period of time.......love her!!  I just thought she was so fresh-faced and adorable.  I loved the fact that she didn't wear a ton of makeup (although her eyeliner in the first part of the episode was something fierce), and had a really easy-going banter with everyone from Simon to the contestants.  After the show, I immediately went to Twitter and started following.  New fan!

I'm going to have to DVR tonight.  Glee comes back and Kate Hudson is starring as a teacher, and HELLO- she's like girl crush #1!

One last thing, have y'all heard The Bieb's new song?  Heard it for the first time last night and cannot get it out of my head.  Who said 30 wasn't the new 20?

Dear Britney

I guess you've all heard the big news......Brit Brit's big X Factor premiere is tonight.  I'm pumped.  I'm really, really hoping she's not going to be weird.  She looks great as Exhibit A and B shows:

She looks nervous

Definitely more like herself here

I worry about Brit-Brit-, I cannot lie.  I always feel like she's on the verge of a major breakdown.  It's obvious girlfriend is on medication.  And you know, if that works good for her!  Yesterday her and Simon Colwell appeared on Ellen, and although she looked beautiful, she looked like she might be a tad constipated.  (Girl, we know you stopped at In-N-Out and got you some french fries on the way!)  Check it out:

See what I'm talking about? I really do think that if I were her personal assistant, she wouldn't act that way. The following is basically how it would go down:

"Britney, I've loved you since the 2000 VMA's when you became a stripper.  I knew at that point we would have a lasting relationship.  I especially loved the MTV episode of "Diary" when you and JT loved it up for the cameras.  I still cannot believe you cheated on JT with Wade Robson.....what was that?? Anyway, you really took it to a new low when you married KFed and premiered Chaotic.  I stuck by you when you shaved your head, and went cray cray on the paparazzi (although they totally deserved it).  I was even your biggest supporter when you were riding around in Paris Hilton's Mercedes Benz not wearing underwear (probably not your best move).  There have been a number of things that have gone down, and yet I've always supported you no matter what.  So from this point on, this is the plan: you're going to learn to dance again (Hello?! I'm a slaaavvve for you), you're going to stop being weird during interviews, and you need to just go ahead and break off that engagement with Jason Trawho?, and reunite with JT (let's just admit that we all know JT does not want to marry Jessica Biel).  That's the plan, you feel me?"

So with all of this in mind, I will be watching the X Factor tonight, glass of wine in hand, rooting for my girl.  Come on, Britney!  We believe in you!!

It's a new day!

Happy first Monday of the year!

I celebrated by buying myself 2 pairs of J Simp Jeggings- whoop whoop!  I'm excited to say I've gone down a size, so jean shopping was actually a pleasant experience today.  Here's to losing more weight and actually (and not just saying I'm going to) wearing a bikini this summer....Cheers!  Now, let's hope Adam doesn't look at our account anytime in the near future...

My week is already so busy.  With the exception of tomorrow, we have plans, doc appointments, dinners, parties, and etc. the rest of the week.  I go to the doc for a check-up Wednesday (blah) and Aaron heads to the doc for a heart scan Thursday.  Just typing that out makes me a nervous wreck.  Before I scare anyone, this is just a precautionary thing we are having to do because of Luke's precious heart.  There have been no signs at all that Aaron has any heart problems, we just have to check him.  If you are a praying person, send us some good thoughts Thursday.  I, of course, am freaking out because the last time we went to a heart doctor we heard news that broke our hearts.  Yes, I will be popping a Zantax Thursday morning.  Don't judge.

I need some book recommendations.  I'm reading the second book in the Sookie Stackhouse series, and while I love it, I'm getting impatient for her to hook up with Eric.  Does that even happen in the books?  I've got to get True Blood back on my Netflix que.....

Are y'all watching The Bachelor tonight??  I haven't decided if I'm going to get suckered in or not....Ben's just not interesting to me in the least.

Yahoo is advertising your yearly horoscope.  With the exception of "reclaiming my singledom" and "having a baby," I think it looks pretty good.  Here it is (and go check yours out, too):

Gemini Outlook for 2012

Gemini
5/21 – 6/21

Year 2012 Overview

Another year of sweeping changes are in store, Gemini. If you thought last year was a whirlwind, hold the line. With an encore round of eclipse patterns hitting your constellation this summer, you're gearing up for the next level of transformation! Your personal image and intimate relationships will continue to change over the course of the next 12 months, so be ready for anything. If you're single, this could very well be the year you finally get hitched. If you're already betrothed, this is the year you could reclaim your singledom, buy a house or have a baby. Either way, you're moving toward the great unknown, so let go - and let the stars show you the way!
This is your year to finally regain that sense of discipline you swore you'd have at the start of last year. With Saturn moving into your sector of health and routines this year, you should be able to get a good grip on daily wellness practices. Healthy foods and consistent exercise will be key to pushing your vitality from acceptable to stellar. You'll need to be operating at maximum potential to navigate all the exciting changes just around the bend!
The other big news is that Saturn is finally leaving your romance and creativity sector in October. After many hard-earned lessons in love over the past two years, you're ready for a serious reprieve. You've certainly upgraded your standards, haven't you? Use this year to live the words that you preach in your relationships. Many people look up to you as a role model, so act accordingly. With Mars activating your domestic sector for a good portion of the year, you'll have plenty of intensity on the home front to contend with. If you're not happy with your current living quarters, this is the year to put energy into making that change.

Have a good night, friends!

The Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion- My take

My love for reality television has always been very obvious through my blog posts.  It really grew to new heights when I discovered Bravo, and all of the reality TV goodness that it offered.  (I discuss the love here.)  Being such a big fan to Bravo, I, of course, have grown to love my housewives; the Real Housewives that is.  I am not a big fan of Atlanta (shocker, I know), but cannot get enough of New York, and currently, New Jersey.  Last night was Jersey's big reunion show, and since my bedtime is 10 pm these days, the DVR was set up and ready for all of the name-calling, hair-yanking, and screaming that was sure to ensue............and ensue it did.

Let me just say, I am not a fan of Danielle by any means. She acts like a victim, but is constantly threatening everyone else through her "thug" friend Danny, and I find the fact that she literally uses the plural form of woman as "woman," horrible; these are just a couple of annoyances to top off the list.  However, after watching the first part of this reunion show this morning, I honestly feel a little bad for her.  Within the first five minutes of the show she was verbally attacked by Teresa, and at this point we were only 3 minutes in.  Granted, Danielle acts terrible and does awful things, but what happened to showing a little class and respect for other people?  (Teresa, I'm looking at you. "Just stay on the couch!")  Jacqueline, on the other hand, attacked Danielle throughout the show by throwing out little jabs here and there.  Is it just me folks, or do you feel that the only reason Jacqueline even says anything against Danielle is to show-off in front of Teresa?  I like Jacqueline, but what happened to standing your own ground?  You were the one housewife that had a friendship with Danielle at one point, why continue to kick a woman while she's down?  I have been a big supporter of Teresa throughout this season, but after watching last night's episode my fondness of her has dwindled, just a little.  There was no class whatsoever; we all know Danielle is a crazy loon, but getting in her face, screaming profanities, chasing, and throwing pillows, all because Danielle threw a little jab your way.  Grow up.  What happened to the art of saying your peace, and ignoring what someone else has to say?  The only person that showed any class during the reunion show was Caroline.  The rest of them need to take notes.

With all of this being said, I cannot wait until next week!

What was your take?
