Wired

Happy Saturday, folks! I wish I could enjoy this moment more, but I maybe slept 3-4 hours last night and I am s-t-ruggling. Adam and I went to a 30th birthday party for a friend last night, and we had a great time. Got home at a decent time (around 11:45), watched the Pam & Jim wedding (again) because we're obsessed with The Office, and finally got into bed around 12:30. Since I am one of those people that has to fall asleep with the television on, I turned the channel to E! and hunkered down in my bed for some restful asleep. That was until my drunk husband kept tossing and turning in bed. You see, by now I know my husband well enough to see that if he's been drinking and he doesn't pass out when we go to bed, a puke is coming. So, I drift off to sleep for around 30 minutes, and wake up to Adam sitting on the edge of the bed talking about going to the bathroom. I said, "Baby, go to the bathroom." He's still sitting on our bed and says that he "can't find the doorknob." Rut-roh. That's when I knew that too much Corona Extra was consumed on a mostly empty stomach. Luckily, I turned on the light and he was able to make it to the bathroom in time. After that lovely episode, Adam went to sleep on the couch, and Sophie May and I stretched out in the bed finally hoping to get some rest. Nope. The terrible hearburn kicked in, and minutes ticked by. I turned on the TV (again!) and finally between 3 & 3:30 I fell asleep to the old eighties flick "St. Elmo's Fire." I tossed and turned until around 8 this morning, and finally decided to give up. I am definitely fixing to take a morning nap.

Adam and I are planning on getting the house "baby-ready" today. I'm talking moving furniture, rearranging furniture, moving electrical wires, and etc. And when I say that "we" are doing this, it's mostly just Adam and our friend, Bud who is our personal handy-man. Can't wait to see the outcome!

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Heartburn, Indigestion, & Nose Bleeds- just a few of the joys of pregnancy!

My body has officially whacked out for the week. It's only Tuesday, and I am already dealing with the symptoms listed on this blog title. I had to break down and buy some Mylanta today. The heartburn and indigestion are annoying and uncomfortable. I haven't figured out what foods trigger which (or both) symptoms, but I will be paying more attention from this point on. Another pregnancy symptom I've began to notice is the nasal stuffiness. I wake up every morning and blow my nose through the whole getting-ready process. So, as I'm putting on makeup yesterday morning I go to blow my nose (again!) and there is blood on the tissue. I look in the mirror, and it's a full-on nose bleed. OMG! I mean, I've had nose bleeds before, but never like this! I freak out, grab my "What to Expect When You're Expecting" off of the coffee table, and look up "nose bleeds" in the index praying that I'm not a freak. Lo and behold, it is common for pregnant women to have nose bleeds during pregnancy; something about nose swelling (great), because your body is swelling (even greater). I can so imagine being in public and totally freaking someone out with my erratic nose bleeds. Let's just pray this "grossness" shall pass soon.

BTW, I made this purchase today:

I've decided that Adam and I are going to be Brit-Brit and K-fed for Halloween this year. I'm talking this tank, cut-off's, flip-flop's, ratty ponytail, and a Starbucks Frappucino in hand. Adam is wearing a tank top also, baggy jeans- boxer shorts hanging out, and fedora. Love it! Trashy and livin' it up!

Talk to you soon, friends!

Wicked Witch

Ummmm......just so you know, my blog title describes my mood perfectly. What an awful day! You know, I knew today was going to be terrible. I could feel it before my alarm went off this morning. Normally on a Friday, I bounce out of the bed at 7 am ready for the day, and so happy the weekend is finally showing it's lovely face again. Not today. I'm not going to go into great detail; partly because I'm too tired, and secondly, well, you all know what happened to Laughing Lolly back in March when according to some people, I went into too much detail.......long hiatus. Let's just say that I had one task after another to complete without a breather, we had some rather, ahem, rude/obnoxious phone calls, and most importantly, mama didn't get to take a lunch hour today. No lunch hour= unhappy girl. So, as soon as the clock stroke 5 pm I was out the door and trucking it to the Jeep. Got in the car, called my mom to complain about my day, pull up in my driveway, and lo and behold, there's a freakin' garage sale sign tacked onto one of our trees! Oh no, they didn't! Before I tell you what I said to my husband when I walked in the door, let me just say that being pregnant has not only made me extremely moody, but someone to "not mess with" most of the time. I'm totally serious. Anyway, I see that sign, whip that Jeep into the car port, and I'm thinking to myself, "Surely these neighbors of ours came over and asked Adam if it would be okay to put the sign in our yard." Am I right? I mean, I know if Adam and I were having a garage sale we wouldn't just go tack a sign onto their tree, and on their property, without asking them about it first. So, I talked to Adam and found out that no one had come over asking if they can put their garage sale sign on our tree, and on our property. God, I was pissed then. I marched back outside (in my new leopard-print flats by the way, I love them), and ripped that sign off of our tree so fast. I considered hunting down the address that was listed on the flyer and throwing it in their yard, but Adam said that was childish. Friends, I was heated. After stewing over that for a good fifteen minutes, I decided to let it go and helped myself to a fudge brownie and some good OC reruns.

This "I choose happiness" mood has not lasted tonight, I'm sad to say. Although I'm a little embarrassed to admit this, I thought about how good wings and fries would be for dinner, and daydreamed about it all day. So, Adam and I ordered dinner from Loco's tonight and naturally I ordered wings (dipped in both mild & teriyaki sauce- YUM), and fries. An hour later when they finally delivered our food, and the hubby had sent them on their way (with a tip, I might add) I opened my box to find wings, no blue cheese dip, AND no fries. WTF???? OMG!!!! Are you serious?? I just had, like the worst day ever, and you couldn't even get the damn blue cheese dip request right?? After pouting and complaining to Adam, I ate my wings in silence, and made a vow that we will never order from Loco's again! Adam just laughed and said that he "loved Loco's and will definitely order from them again." Jerk. Next time Waffle House gets his order wrong I'm going to laugh my face off.

Off to shower and try to beautify with a mask and scrub. Considering all of the calories I've consumed since I got home from work, that might be the best idea. I really need to come up with an exercise regimen......

Oh! I find out October 28th what I'm having!!! SO exciting!!! As much as I've complained today I still feel like the luckiest person in the world right now. Here's to a sweet baby boy, or a precious baby girl! And, last but not least, here's to breastfeeding like it's my job so I can shed the calories from tonight's (and many other night's) menu- minus the fries and blue cheese.....dammit!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Weekly Round-up

It's Saturday- whoop whoop! The sun is shining, I just consumed a bagel with hazel-nut cream cheese topping, and I'm about to have a delicious cup of my (decaff) Chocolate Delight coffee. Life is good. How are you today, friends??

So, I have to share: I had my first "stranger stomach pat" the other day. Yep, it happened, and I am only around 4 months. This little incident happened Thursday afternoon while I was doing some last-minute shopping at Belk. I was in the lingerie section (shopping for my friend Melissa- she's getting married next month and we threw a lingerie shower/dinner for her at Grit's Thursday night). I had noticed this lady (probably in her 50's) looking me up and down while shopping. I noticed, but ignored her and continued shopping. A few minutes later I was at the check-out counter making my purchase (a pretty Jones New York cream-colored silk nightie with a light blue neckline) and getting it gift-wrapped. Stomach-Patter came walking over ready to make her purchase. This is exactly what went down from this point on:

SP: So, is this for a friend?
Me: Yes, a friend of mine is getting married next month, and we're throwing a lingerie shower for her tonight.
SP: Yeah, she'll get married and be just like you soon.........

and then it happened............the STOMACH PAT!!!!!!!

Me: (Bright red and super uncomfortable) Yep.

That's all I could say. I just couldn't believe it happened. I mean, I knew it was eventually going to happen, but this early on?? A friend of mine told me right when I got pregnant, "You need to know that the public considers pregnant women free-for-all's, meaning they can be touched by any one at any time." Now let me just say, I have never been one to touch a stranger's pregnant belly. Of course, if I know and am close with the person, I will touch their pregnant belly all the time, and they may touch my pregnant belly also. But, I guess my question is, what gives strangers the right to touch your belly just because you're pregnant? After the incident, I walked straight out of Belk without even stopping at the MAC counter (and that's a major feat, by the way). I guess I can now look forward to five more months of belly-grabbing?? Wonderful.

Anyway, the incident was long forgotten once I got to Grit's and met up with my girlfriends. Here's a picture of our lovely evening:

So, I found out some exciting news this week! Looks like, Adam and I, along with his huge family, are taking a Christmas trip to Colorado. So excited!! Adam and his brothers are big "skiers," and always took regular ski vacations growing up. I actually went skiing for the first time with Adam and his family 3 1/2 years ago. Here's a pic to prove it:

The first ski-trip we went to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This trip will be Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Here is a picture of where we'll be staying. I couldn't be more happy about getting out of town. It's time for a vacay! And although my clumsy ass won't be flying down the green slopes with my eyes closed this time, I will promise to look extra cute in a ski outfit, while sipping hot cocoa and checking out the beautiful scenery and hot ski-instructors that just graduated college, but aren't ready for the "real world" AKA "real job" yet. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to me!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!!

Longest day EVER!

“It’s been a long time, since I left you, without a dope beat to step to”………Terrible, I know. Trying to use a little bit of Timbaland to cover up for the fact that I am SLACK! Work and no play makes Hayley a dull girl. Dull girl equals boring blog. Sorry! Let’s catch up, shall we???

Emmy’s?? Thoughts?? Personally, I thought the Emmy’s were horrible this year. Let me start by saying that I do love Neil Patrick Harris. I have loved him ever since the old Doogie Howser glory days. However, I was left hanging in the air after all of his jokes. I don’t know if the jokes were scripted, or planned, or whatever, but they were not funny. Frankly, I felt a little bit embarrassed for him. Nothing against Neil P, though! I find him hilarious on “How I Met Your Mother.” Maybe it just was not his night. Speaking of, was it anybody’s night if you weren’t Tina Fey, Jon Hamm, 30 Rock, and Mad Men?? Shocker, I know. Yes, I know these shows are “Exciting and Cutting-edge,” but do they have to win every year?? What about shows like “The Office,” “House,” and “Brothers and Sisters?” Why do these shows (or these people) never get awarded??

As far as who was wearing what, the only person I found interesting was Alyson Hannigan because of the fact that her body was rockin’ and she just had a baby six months ago. Her secret? Breastfeeding. Yep, I’m totally breastfeeding. I want a bangin’ body after baby, too! I’m just to the point where I don’t want to watch the Emmy’s telecast any more. Unless Robert Pattinson AKA Boyfriend is making an appearance I am no longer interested!

I’m sure I will totally be watching it this time next year, but I just had to vent.

In other news, I have officially gone to maternity clothes.....eeeeekkk! It's funny that I have not gained any weight (according to the rather large scale at my doc's office), but my stomach is actually growing because of baby. I am sad to say that my Express Jeans that actually made me look like I have an ass will be hanging in the closet for at least another 6-7 months. I am officially in the spandex over belly world, and I'm not gonna lie- it's comfy! While I am comfortable, I am feeling a bit frumpy so I've been trying to up the ante on my accessories. Any ideas?? I'm such an earrings girl, and I always feel like a good pair of chandeliers really can make the outfit. Since it is too hot for boots, and I can't wear my Steve Madden sandals another day without getting a pedicure, I purchased these at DSW today. I love them! If I can't look sassy, my feet can!

I've gotta go now, friends. My frozen Totino's pizza is ready. YUM!

Bravo and heartbeats- GREAT mix

Since I have become quite the couch potato in the last few months, my television time has increased by like, hmmmmm.......2-3 extra hours a day. It's too much, I know, but when you're gag reflex is at constant peak, and the only thing that settles your stomach is lying around watching old episodes of The O.C., the TV is a nice distraction. With all of this being said, I feel like my new part-time job as a television critic has opened my eyes to such shows as: Project Runway, Flipping Out, and The Rachel Zoe Project. Now, I know what you're thinking right now:

(1) "Project Runway is like, the best show ever- why in the world is this girl just finding out about this little gem?? Maybe she's not as in-the-know as she likes to think she is!"

Yes, you're right. I am ashamed of the fact that I have not been following "The Project" like all of my other fabulous friends. I am working to rectify this mistake. I will say that with it coming on at 10:00 pm on Thursday nights ON Lifetime (yes, I do know this show is not on Bravo anymore- I'm catching on) it does not mesh well with my 9:30 bedtime these days, but hey, that's what DVR is for. So far I am loving Mitchell (from Savannah, of course) Shirin, and sometimes Althea. This little pot of gold is now a standard in the Mosely household, and I am proud to finally say it!

Now, moving on to Bravo. Ahhhhhh......Bravo. It is just me or does this television channel keep on popping out the most addictive reality television ever??!! OMG- the obsession started with The Real Housewives, and now: Rachel Zoe, Jeff Lewis??!! Cannot get enough! The Rachel Zoe Project was a television staple last year when it first premiered on Bravo. I have liked Rachel Zoe ever since I purchased her book: Style A To Zoe a couple of years ago. I am a fan of her work, and even though her collar-bones scare me just a bit, her fashion is, in her own words, "gorge." I think her assistant Taylor either is, or comes across as an ungrateful and spoiled person, but I do love her other assistant Brad. Can't wait until Tuesday when Brad goes to the Oscar's with "Annie," (better known as the wonderful Anne Hathaway). I'm hooked!

My final new obsession is Flipping Out with Jeff Lewis. I accidentally stumbled upon this show around a week ago while waiting on The Real Housewives of Atlanta to come on, and I am SO glad I did. Jeff Lewis and company basically purchase houses and "flip" them. This year has been a little bit different in that he is not so much working as his own boss, but working for other people because of the downturn in the economy. He is a handsome (kind've resembles John Mayer), hilarious, gay man that takes no bull and tells it like it is. He can be mean at times, but you can't help but laugh out loud because he's so dead-on with everything that he says. This is the kind of guy that instills rules such as: No "number 2" can ever happen at his house unless it's him, and has a: regular assistant, house assistant, and maid. I promise if you watch it you will love it!

So, Thursday I went for my third doctor's check-up with the ever-growing Baby Mosely. After much anticipation I finally got to hear my baby's heartbeat. Oh my God- the most amazing thing ever! As soon as the nurse placed the little microphone on my belly I heard this good, strong heartbeat just beating away. I can't even describe how wonderful that feeling was. Then I heard all of these "whooshing" noises. I asked the nurse what that was, and she said that was the baby moving around. Oh my gosh! I said to the nurse, "the baby's moving around already?" She said the baby moves around all day long, but since he/she is still so little I can't feel anything yet. Hearing that heartbeat and all of the movement made everything seem so much more real to me. There's a little person growing in my belly- that's so crazy and amazing! I didn't get another sonogram, but once I have some more pictures I promise to post them. So exciting!!

Now off to start working on my newly purchased baby book. Hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day!!
