Weekly Round-up

It's Saturday- whoop whoop! The sun is shining, I just consumed a bagel with hazel-nut cream cheese topping, and I'm about to have a delicious cup of my (decaff) Chocolate Delight coffee. Life is good. How are you today, friends??

So, I have to share: I had my first "stranger stomach pat" the other day. Yep, it happened, and I am only around 4 months. This little incident happened Thursday afternoon while I was doing some last-minute shopping at Belk. I was in the lingerie section (shopping for my friend Melissa- she's getting married next month and we threw a lingerie shower/dinner for her at Grit's Thursday night). I had noticed this lady (probably in her 50's) looking me up and down while shopping. I noticed, but ignored her and continued shopping. A few minutes later I was at the check-out counter making my purchase (a pretty Jones New York cream-colored silk nightie with a light blue neckline) and getting it gift-wrapped. Stomach-Patter came walking over ready to make her purchase. This is exactly what went down from this point on:

SP: So, is this for a friend?
Me: Yes, a friend of mine is getting married next month, and we're throwing a lingerie shower for her tonight.
SP: Yeah, she'll get married and be just like you soon.........

and then it happened............the STOMACH PAT!!!!!!!

Me: (Bright red and super uncomfortable) Yep.

That's all I could say. I just couldn't believe it happened. I mean, I knew it was eventually going to happen, but this early on?? A friend of mine told me right when I got pregnant, "You need to know that the public considers pregnant women free-for-all's, meaning they can be touched by any one at any time." Now let me just say, I have never been one to touch a stranger's pregnant belly. Of course, if I know and am close with the person, I will touch their pregnant belly all the time, and they may touch my pregnant belly also. But, I guess my question is, what gives strangers the right to touch your belly just because you're pregnant? After the incident, I walked straight out of Belk without even stopping at the MAC counter (and that's a major feat, by the way). I guess I can now look forward to five more months of belly-grabbing?? Wonderful.

Anyway, the incident was long forgotten once I got to Grit's and met up with my girlfriends. Here's a picture of our lovely evening:

So, I found out some exciting news this week! Looks like, Adam and I, along with his huge family, are taking a Christmas trip to Colorado. So excited!! Adam and his brothers are big "skiers," and always took regular ski vacations growing up. I actually went skiing for the first time with Adam and his family 3 1/2 years ago. Here's a pic to prove it:

The first ski-trip we went to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This trip will be Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Here is a picture of where we'll be staying. I couldn't be more happy about getting out of town. It's time for a vacay! And although my clumsy ass won't be flying down the green slopes with my eyes closed this time, I will promise to look extra cute in a ski outfit, while sipping hot cocoa and checking out the beautiful scenery and hot ski-instructors that just graduated college, but aren't ready for the "real world" AKA "real job" yet. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to me!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!!

Longest day EVER!

“It’s been a long time, since I left you, without a dope beat to step to”………Terrible, I know. Trying to use a little bit of Timbaland to cover up for the fact that I am SLACK! Work and no play makes Hayley a dull girl. Dull girl equals boring blog. Sorry! Let’s catch up, shall we???

Emmy’s?? Thoughts?? Personally, I thought the Emmy’s were horrible this year. Let me start by saying that I do love Neil Patrick Harris. I have loved him ever since the old Doogie Howser glory days. However, I was left hanging in the air after all of his jokes. I don’t know if the jokes were scripted, or planned, or whatever, but they were not funny. Frankly, I felt a little bit embarrassed for him. Nothing against Neil P, though! I find him hilarious on “How I Met Your Mother.” Maybe it just was not his night. Speaking of, was it anybody’s night if you weren’t Tina Fey, Jon Hamm, 30 Rock, and Mad Men?? Shocker, I know. Yes, I know these shows are “Exciting and Cutting-edge,” but do they have to win every year?? What about shows like “The Office,” “House,” and “Brothers and Sisters?” Why do these shows (or these people) never get awarded??

As far as who was wearing what, the only person I found interesting was Alyson Hannigan because of the fact that her body was rockin’ and she just had a baby six months ago. Her secret? Breastfeeding. Yep, I’m totally breastfeeding. I want a bangin’ body after baby, too! I’m just to the point where I don’t want to watch the Emmy’s telecast any more. Unless Robert Pattinson AKA Boyfriend is making an appearance I am no longer interested!

I’m sure I will totally be watching it this time next year, but I just had to vent.

In other news, I have officially gone to maternity clothes.....eeeeekkk! It's funny that I have not gained any weight (according to the rather large scale at my doc's office), but my stomach is actually growing because of baby. I am sad to say that my Express Jeans that actually made me look like I have an ass will be hanging in the closet for at least another 6-7 months. I am officially in the spandex over belly world, and I'm not gonna lie- it's comfy! While I am comfortable, I am feeling a bit frumpy so I've been trying to up the ante on my accessories. Any ideas?? I'm such an earrings girl, and I always feel like a good pair of chandeliers really can make the outfit. Since it is too hot for boots, and I can't wear my Steve Madden sandals another day without getting a pedicure, I purchased these at DSW today. I love them! If I can't look sassy, my feet can!

I've gotta go now, friends. My frozen Totino's pizza is ready. YUM!

Bravo and heartbeats- GREAT mix

Since I have become quite the couch potato in the last few months, my television time has increased by like, hmmmmm.......2-3 extra hours a day. It's too much, I know, but when you're gag reflex is at constant peak, and the only thing that settles your stomach is lying around watching old episodes of The O.C., the TV is a nice distraction. With all of this being said, I feel like my new part-time job as a television critic has opened my eyes to such shows as: Project Runway, Flipping Out, and The Rachel Zoe Project. Now, I know what you're thinking right now:

(1) "Project Runway is like, the best show ever- why in the world is this girl just finding out about this little gem?? Maybe she's not as in-the-know as she likes to think she is!"

Yes, you're right. I am ashamed of the fact that I have not been following "The Project" like all of my other fabulous friends. I am working to rectify this mistake. I will say that with it coming on at 10:00 pm on Thursday nights ON Lifetime (yes, I do know this show is not on Bravo anymore- I'm catching on) it does not mesh well with my 9:30 bedtime these days, but hey, that's what DVR is for. So far I am loving Mitchell (from Savannah, of course) Shirin, and sometimes Althea. This little pot of gold is now a standard in the Mosely household, and I am proud to finally say it!

Now, moving on to Bravo. Ahhhhhh......Bravo. It is just me or does this television channel keep on popping out the most addictive reality television ever??!! OMG- the obsession started with The Real Housewives, and now: Rachel Zoe, Jeff Lewis??!! Cannot get enough! The Rachel Zoe Project was a television staple last year when it first premiered on Bravo. I have liked Rachel Zoe ever since I purchased her book: Style A To Zoe a couple of years ago. I am a fan of her work, and even though her collar-bones scare me just a bit, her fashion is, in her own words, "gorge." I think her assistant Taylor either is, or comes across as an ungrateful and spoiled person, but I do love her other assistant Brad. Can't wait until Tuesday when Brad goes to the Oscar's with "Annie," (better known as the wonderful Anne Hathaway). I'm hooked!

My final new obsession is Flipping Out with Jeff Lewis. I accidentally stumbled upon this show around a week ago while waiting on The Real Housewives of Atlanta to come on, and I am SO glad I did. Jeff Lewis and company basically purchase houses and "flip" them. This year has been a little bit different in that he is not so much working as his own boss, but working for other people because of the downturn in the economy. He is a handsome (kind've resembles John Mayer), hilarious, gay man that takes no bull and tells it like it is. He can be mean at times, but you can't help but laugh out loud because he's so dead-on with everything that he says. This is the kind of guy that instills rules such as: No "number 2" can ever happen at his house unless it's him, and has a: regular assistant, house assistant, and maid. I promise if you watch it you will love it!

So, Thursday I went for my third doctor's check-up with the ever-growing Baby Mosely. After much anticipation I finally got to hear my baby's heartbeat. Oh my God- the most amazing thing ever! As soon as the nurse placed the little microphone on my belly I heard this good, strong heartbeat just beating away. I can't even describe how wonderful that feeling was. Then I heard all of these "whooshing" noises. I asked the nurse what that was, and she said that was the baby moving around. Oh my gosh! I said to the nurse, "the baby's moving around already?" She said the baby moves around all day long, but since he/she is still so little I can't feel anything yet. Hearing that heartbeat and all of the movement made everything seem so much more real to me. There's a little person growing in my belly- that's so crazy and amazing! I didn't get another sonogram, but once I have some more pictures I promise to post them. So exciting!!

Now off to start working on my newly purchased baby book. Hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day!!
